How it works

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the rating system work?

The rating system is based on an advanced skill rating algorithm designed to evaluate a player's strength and track their progress over time. The system uses performance data from matches to adjust a player's rating dynamically, accounting for the difficulty of opponents and the outcomes of each game. This ensures that the ratings are accurate and reflect the true skill levels of players within the community. Unlike the popular Elo rating system, which was initially designed for chess, the skill algorithm we use here is designed to support games with more than two players. For more details on the mathematical principles behind this system, check out this paper about the TrueSkill algorithm.

Where is the data from?

The data comes from more than 60,000 league matches organized by the Bayerischer Tischfußballverband e.V. (BTFV) since 2012, which are freely available on their page. New match results are scraped automatically every 24 hours, ensuring that the rankings and player statistics are up to date with the latest results from the league.

I played a match recently: Why is it not listed yet?

Patience is a virtue! Matches are synchronized with the BTFV webpage once every 24 hours. If you've already waited and the match is still not listed, please check that the data has been published on the BTFV homepage. If it's still missing, feel free to contact me at reinhard.eichhorn@gmail.com for assistance.

Why am I not listed?

To be listed in the rankings for a specific season, a player must have participated in at least one match during that season. If you are not listed, please check if you've played in the current season. If you believe there is an issue, don't hesitate to reach out for support.

Found an error?

If you find an error in the rankings or player data, please let me know by sending an email to reinhard.eichhorn@gmail.com with a description of the issue. I will look into it and correct the data as soon as possible.
